Mary-Ellen services clients across several geographical areas including Belleville, Centre and North Hastings, Picton, Napanee, Kingston, Quinte West, Trenton, Brighton, Cobourg and many points in between. Mary-Ellen has an office in Belleville for assessment, treatment and case conferences.

We are committed to providing individuals and their families with evidence-based care in an inclusive, nonjudgmental, friendly environment. Our goal is to provide the services necessary to bridge the gap between ineffective and effective communication. We recognize that each individual and family is different and we strive to develop treatment programs that are tailored to meet individual needs while maximizing communication potential.
What We Do
We provide speech, language and cognitive-communication services to individuals across the lifespan in a compassionate, caring, friendly environment.
Our Approach
As well, our goal is no wait times where possible as effective communication is a basic human right. Young children’s development is exponential and communication is critical for cognitive development. Across all ages, effective communication supports good mental health, social skills, and vocational and avocational aspirations.

Speech Language Pathologist
Owner and Clinic Director
Mary-Ellen is the owner and clinic director of this practice. She is a Speech Language Pathologist in the province of Ontario, and a member of the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). She holds a certificate of Clinical Competence registration with the American Speech and Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
Mary-Ellen graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University, a Master of Science degree in Experimental Psychology from McGill University, a Master of Health Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Toronto and a doctorate degree from the University of Toronto, Institute of Health Science.
Mary-Ellen is a caring and compassionate individual who strives for excellence in her clinical practice. She has experience working in the education setting, hospital environment and community. Mary-Ellen is currently the president of the Brain Injury Association Quinte District. She also volunteers for the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation and the Ontario Brain Injury Association.
Mary-Ellen provides workshops within the comity on a volunteer basis. As well, she has presented papers provincially, nationally and internationally. Mary-Ellen was awarded the Professional of the Year award by the Ontario Brain Injury Association for “outstanding contributions to improving the lives of those living with the effects of acquired brain injury.”

Communicative Disorders Assistant
Tealle is a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA). She completed her undergraduate studies at Brock University, and graduated with an Honours B.A. in Applied Linguistics- Speech and Language Sciences in 2014. In 2015, she graduated amongst the top of her class and received her Communicative Disorders Assistant certificate from Georgian College. Tealle is a registered member of the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association of Canada (CDAAC).
Tealle has a diverse range of clinical experience in planning and executing goal specific therapy for children and adults. The targets of treatment for her children clientele are speech articulation disorders, speech and language impairments, phonological speech disorders, phonological awareness skills, early literacy skills, oral language skills, fluency disorders and social communication skills. The adult clientele are primarily Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) individuals, although she does treat children with ABI’s as well. The target of treatment for her ABI clients are providing exercises to improve their cognitive-communication, speech, and language skills, teaching strategies to help compensate for or deal with their difficulties, decrease difficulties with word finding, provide support for students in academic environments and help strengthen executive functions.
Tealle continues to stay current with her education and extend her knowledge by attending conferences year round such as; Learn, Lead, Inspire 2016 by Dr. Abraham Snaiderman and Dr. Jessica Trier, Building Early Literacy in the Home and in Early Childhood Centres 2017 by Janice Greenberg, and Executive Functions in Students with Acquired Brain injury 2017 by Dr.Lyn Turkstra.

Evelyn Coor is the Office Assistant with over 10 years of providing support to Mary-Ellen’s practise. She is responsible for the smooth running of the office and is usually the first point of contact with the team. She will gladly assist you with any questions you may have with our services.
